This watercolor was done over 30 years ago as a gift for my father, who passed away in 2006. He was a hunter and outdoorsman who always told visitors that this was the best painting I ever did because it was done for him. Before printing, I "repainted" the edges of the scanned copy on the computer because the original had not been framed with museum-archival materials. Too, I had refined my style over the intervening years so felt compelled to "redraw" the deer.
