Day's End
My inspiration for this painting was a photo of
Back River, an estuarine inlet of the Chesapeake Bay in Hampton Roads
area of southeastern Virginia taken by Skip Brown, a well-known photographer
from Cabin John, MD. A Class V kayaker, advanced-rated hang-glide
pilot, accomplished wind surfer, kite boarder, mountain biker, and
snow sportsman, Skip brings a special perspective to his landscapes
(see http://www.skipbrownphotography.com/index.html).
This serene setting is typical of many tributaries along the Chesapeake
Bay and the 3,000-mile Intracoastal Waterway, a recreational and commercial
"water superhighway" that runs the length of the Eastern Seaboard.
The framed original watercolor, presented in a
1.5" wide grey and black wood frame flecked with rust red and brass
nameplate (triple matted in acid-free black core medium grey on light
pink on light blue with an outer dimension of 18.5" x 27"), is available
for $4,750.00. Limited edition giclée prints of the original
painting and note cards are also available. Click
