Home for the Night
Using only a palette knife and no brush, the
original watercolor was painted en plein air (on-site) from
an adjacent dock at Saxis Island, VA. This small Eastern Shore fishing
community is still comprised mostly of fishermen and their families.
Catches of crabs, oysters, stripers and flounder are brought to dock
facilities like this throughout the Chesapeake Bay and processed for
the market. The original watercolor
is in a private collection but limited edition prints and note cards
are available. Click
